Mrs. Uju Aisha Hassan-Baba
Former Executive Secretary/CEO, Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC)

Koinonia Ventures Limited was established in response to a burning passion and strong belief in the possibility of establishing a non-oil-export-driven economy as well as using exports to reduce poverty, increase rural industrialization and create new jobs. In the case of Nigeria in particular, we at Koinonia Ventures Limited have championed causes, projects and programmes advocating economic diversification, decades before the current orientation towards replacing crude oil as the country’s lead foreign exchange earner.

At Koinonia Ventures Limited, we recognize the importance of promoting trade and inward investment, and building trade and investment relations. Our members of staff focus on encouraging exports, in order to leverage global growth for the development of the economy, through the establishment of collaborative agreements with existing trading partners and dynamic fast-growing emerging markets.

In partnership with the appropriate Ministries, Departments and Agencies, we have conceptualized, packaged and executed Business and Investment fora in different countries of the world to promote Nigeria’s exports as well as attract foreign direct investment with export orientation.  Some of these include:

  • The Nigerian Minerals Event (NIME 2001) held in partnership with the Nigerian Mining Corporation at the Kensigton Town Hall, London, UK, September 2-6, 2001.
  • The Nigerian Investment Forum and Manufacturing Exhibition (NIMEX 2002), in partnership with the Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) at CNIT, La Defense, Paris, France, June 2-5, 2002.
  • The Nigerian Investment Forum and Manufacturers Exhibition, hosted in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Embassy of Nigeria, Paris, France, and the Chambre de Commerce et de l”idustrie de Paris (CCIP) at the Bourse de Paris May, 2005.
  • Nigeria-Spain Business and Investment Forum and Trade Exhibition (NIMAD 2013) organised in collaboration with the Embassy of Nigeria, Spain, and held from 2nd through 4th December, 2013 at the Palacio de Congresos Prince Felipe de Madrid.
